Vault is pleased to recognize the 2014 Top 10 Family Friendly Firms as determined by Yale Law Women. Yale Law Women’s Top Ten Family Friendly Firms Initiative surveys the policies of law firms ranking in Vault’s Top 100. The survey evaluates factors such as the billiable hour requirement, part-time and flex-time options, parental leave policies and child care availability. The survey looks at law firm policies and their utilization by both male and female attorneys.

Below please find the 2014 Top Ten Firms, in alphabetical order:

You don’t need to take Yale Law Women’s word that these are the best family friendly firms. The Top Ten’s associates are singing their firms’ praises in Vault’s 2014 Law Firm Associate Survey, a survey of nearly 17,000 associates from over 150 large and mid-sized law firms from across the United States. One Arnold & Porter associate stated:

“The firm is excellent for mothers and parents in general.  The part-time program is easy to get into, and people are treated the same as full-time attorneys, there is on-site daycare, so many associates and most partners have children, and the firm is willing to work at length with attorneys to accommodate special needs.”

An associate at Vinson & Elkins noted:

“Excellent maternity program, and gender-neutral fully paid leave (12 weeks for new mothers and new fathers) which is great for non-traditional couples and for dads with working spouses.”

A Munger, Tolles & Olson associate raved:

“MTO has on-site child care, as well as 16 weeks of paid primary parental care leave (fathers can use it too, if they are the primary caregiver!).”

Congratulations to all the firms that ranked in the 2014 Yale Law Women’s Top Ten Family Friendly Firms list. Keep up the good work!
