&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Ros Smith is a producer on BBC School Report. She has worked across BBC radio, including the BBC3 show for children Big Toe and, on Radio 4, Woman&#39;s Hour. There is no such thing as a typical day she says, but here she describes a day on School Report.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;9:30 AM:&lt;/strong&gt;The first thing I do is check my emails. The project I am working on at the moment involves working with 120 schools, so there will be enquiries from teachers that need urgent attention. I am also linking up teachers with BBC members of staff.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;10:30 AM:&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;We usually have a project meeting in the morning. These are usually quite long because there is a lot to cover from school output to the website.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;12:00 PM:&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;I take half an hour for lunch.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;12:30 PM:&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;I check emails again and deal with enquiries that have come in during the morning. Most of then involve basic enquiries but some of it can be about problem solving as I am the main point of contact between the BBC and teachers involved in the project.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;2:00 PM:&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;I work with the web person in the afternoon getting copy together for the site and putting it into web pages. Sometimes I will go and visit a school at this time. It varies every day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;4:00 PM:&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;I edit down interviews done with teachers and school children that have been recorded for downloading onto the web page.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;6:30 PM:&#160;&lt;/strong&gt;I usually work late and rarely get home before seven but I enjoy the work and the variety it offers.&lt;/p&gt;
