Hi! I’m Alicia Jamieson, Director of Recruitment Marketing at Vault. I’m here today to answer some Frequently Asked Questions about our annual Internship Survey and Rankings process, starting with the number one question we receive:

1. How much does it cost to participate in the Internship survey? 

Participation in this survey is completely free. There are no costs involved. This is not a pay to play survey.

2. What are the benefits of participating in the survey?

There are many benefits to participating in this survey. The most obvious benefit is the opportunity to rank as one of our Top Internship Programs globally.

In addition, you'll have the opportunity to appear in our other Internship rankings, including the Most Prestigious Internships, Best Internships by Key Employment Factor, Best Internships for Diversity, Best Internships by Role, and Best Internships by Industry. 

Beyond that, our editorial team will be writing detailed online internship profiles for participating programs to give students more context about your program. We also extract key insights from the survey including anonymous intern testimonials. 

3. Who sees these rankings and profiles?

Vault partners with hundreds of global campuses, reaching a mass student audience at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Students come to Vault for reliable career insights to help them navigate their next career move.

4. When will the rankings be announced? 

The 2025 Internship Rankings will be announced on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024. If your Internship Program receives a ranking, a member of our team will reach out to you well ahead of the public ranking announcement to discuss them. 

5. When does the survey open and close?

The survey opens on June 12th, 2024 and will close on August 23rd, 2024.

6. Who should I send the survey to? 

All 2024 summer interns are eligible to participate, at both the undergrad and graduate levels, as well as any interns who have been in your program since September 2023 onward, or the close of last year's survey.

7. How long does the survey take to complete? 

The survey should not take your interns more than 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

8. How do I send my interns the survey? 

Vault will email you a survey link that is unique to your organizatioton, along with a short list of instructions for taking the survey. Then you will send that link and instructions along to your interns. 

9. How many interns should take the survey? 

We recommend sending the survey to as many of your interns as possible. We’ve found that the more interns who take our survey, the more accurate a picture we get of what it’s like to intern at your organization, and the more complete profile our editors will be able to write. However, to be eligible for our Internship rankings, you must have a minimum number of completed surveys. Typically, we like to see at least 20 responses, but if your internship program is slightly smaller than that (10 to 20 interns) please let us know! We may still be able to work with you. 

10. How will I know how many interns have completed the survey? 

Participation in this survey is anonymous, so we can’t tell you who exactly took it. But we will be in contact with you weekly with overall participation numbers.
