&lt;p&gt;It is important to be mindful of your body language during a job interview. However, body language can be a bit tricky to navigate in a virtual setting. In this video we will give you the best tips to help you look your best in your next interview. I’m Emily, the editorial coordinator at Vault. I’m here today to help you succeed in your next virtual interview.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;During your interviews, you want to appear confident, optimistic, and engaged. And one way to achieve that is through your body language. There are four things you want to keep in mind when it comes to virtual body language: eye contact, facial expressions, hand gestures, and posture. Now, lets break each of those down.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;--&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;First, it’s important to maintain eye contact with your camera. Try not to let your eyes wander away from the interview too often. This shows your interviewer that you’re fully engaged in the conversation. If your eyes continue to wander to something else in your environment, your interviewer might assume that your attention is also wandering.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And, as you can see, looking around can be distracting.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Second, you need to mind your facial expressions. It&#39;s a good idea to try and smile throughout your interview. If you smile, you’ll be perceived as more friendly and welcoming.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;However, you also want your expressions to match what you’re saying. If you’re talking about a time you were laid off or struggling with your job search, a smile and happy face might throw your interviewer off. But, when you’re talking about why you’re interested in the role, you want to make sure your face also shows that excitement.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Lastly, it’s important to pay attention to your posture.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you lean back in your chair, it can give off the impression that you aren’t engaged in the conversation. But if you lean forward into the camera, it can give off the impression that you’re really plugged into the conversation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Most importantly, sit up straight and tall.
