Back to Work: This is your wakeup call

Published:  Jan 27, 2009

Greetings from the bottom floor of the New York Public Science, Industry and Business Library, where Vault's Back to Work soiree is off to a smashing start. Job-seekers have been streaming in off 34th Street for the past hour, and we launched our first tutorials well before the slated 10:30 a.m. start in response to the early turnout. As I write this, Vault?s own Deb Wheatman is waxing poetic about the nuances of the ?reverse chronological resume? to a rapt audience, Powerpoint stalwart Chris Arvanitis is introducing visitors to Vault?s Online Career Library, and career coach Win Sheffield of the Five O?Clock Club is expounding on career search strategies. Our News & Commentary team is bouncing around to document the happenings, and CBS news radio just stopped by for an interview with Vault CEO Erik Sorenson. We?re also into the second round of personalized career coaching sessions?around 20 visitors per group? with all 220 slots for the day filled well in advance. We?ll continue with updates throughout the day as more job-seekers stop by and my colleagues and Vault partners conduct a variety of tutorials and panels. +
