Government Jobs You Should Apply For Now

On Wednesday we told you that despite dire forecasts of decreased second quarter hiring plans, there are still many jobs available (scroll back to "Good times, bad times -- which is it?"), including over 9,000 new jobs added by the federal government last month alone. Yesterday, Forbes published a handy reference guide to these new openings titled simply "Government Jobs You Should Apply For Now." Couldn't have said it better myself (so I didn't try to).

The Forbes guide sifts through the thousands of openings on the US Department of Labor's list and finds the highest-paying professional posts, which are highlighted in the form of a picture slide show. Job title, description, salary information and direct links to the official listing and online application are provided. A new list comes out every other week, so be sure to check back for the most recent openings, and get your application in if you see something you like, because many of the jobs have fast-approaching deadlines.
