Stump the Intern! [Reader Mail]

Q: I teach a high school elective class on "real-world" preparedness and one of our upcoming units is on resumes and cover letters. Although I'm sure the kids would love to see my resume—("You graduated from college before we were even born?!)—they are all interested in a variety of different careers, and I went right into teaching after graduation. Can you help me out with some sample resumes and cover letters?

A: Preparing, first of all, I think it's awesome that you are teaching this kind of class, and I would have loved to have this as an option when I was in high school. That said, make your way to Vault's Resume and Cover Letter page. There are samples on there from the nonprofit sector, the ad industry, and the now-de rigeur Capitol Hill. Keep up the good work!
