&lt;p&gt;Today is the last day to submit your application for the Citizen Media Law Project (&amp;ldquo;CMLP&amp;rdquo;) summer internship at Harvard University.  CMLP &amp;ldquo;provides legal assistance, education and resources for individuals and organizations involved in online and citizen media.&amp;rdquo; Its current projects include a legal guide for citizen media, a legal threats database and the &lt;em&gt;Online Media Legal Network&lt;/em&gt; (&amp;ldquo;a &lt;em&gt;pro bono&lt;/em&gt; legal referral network&amp;rdquo;).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;According to David Ardia, director and co-founder of CMLP and fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet &amp;amp; Society (&amp;ldquo;Berkman Center&amp;rdquo;) at Harvard, the CMLP internship provides law students with &amp;ldquo;experience working with media clients and a very broad exposure to the legal issues that arise for online publishers.&amp;rdquo;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The CMLP internship is unique in that it focuses on citizen media, which includes &amp;ldquo;non-traditional journalists&amp;mdash;both folks who have had some journalism training and those who have had none,&amp;rdquo; says Mr. Ardia. Interns will complete legal research, follow legal developments, engage in social media and perform long-term research and writing projects. Their duties will include updating CMLP&amp;rsquo;s legal guide and contribute to CMLP&amp;rsquo;s &lt;em&gt;Online Media Legal Network&lt;/em&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Mr. Ardia describes the program as &amp;ldquo;highly competitive&quot;&amp;mdash;successful candidates will have &amp;ldquo;excellent writing and communication skills&amp;rdquo; and &amp;ldquo;a passion for technology.&amp;rdquo; Students from all US law schools are welcome to apply. For the summer CMLP internship, students must obtain public interest funding from their law schools (students who participate in the internship during the school year will receive academic credit rather than funding).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The summer internship program is a component of the larger internship program at the Berkman Center. It&amp;rsquo;s a &amp;ldquo;very active intern program,&amp;rdquo; says Mr. Ardia, including social activities like parties and baseball games.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Below are more details on CMLP&#39;s summer internship program.
