WolfBlock, RIP

Philadelphia’s venerable WolfBlock followed a sadly familiar script: a decline in revenue, a disappearing credit line, some partner defections, a failed merger, a partner exodus, and, finally, dissolution. 

Respondents to our ongoing Law Firm Associate Survey are asked to share their opinions and observations (a/k/a “Buzz”) about firms other than their own.  Excluding the jejune goofs on the firm’s name (e.g. “I'd rank them higher during a full moon”, “Sounds like a teen horror movie.”) the Buzz on WolfBlock follows a recognizable trajectory.  A sampling in chronological order:

“Slipped from its height … Missteps … In trouble … lots of money problems … On the way out … Screwed … DEAD.”

The associate comments combine to paint a picture that is both harsh and accurate.
