Work Life Success
At Friedman LLP, we understand how important it is to balance your career with your lifestyle, while optimizing your professional growth. For that reason, we strive to provide our people with the flexibility they need to achieve the perfect balance.
One of our most popular initiatives, Summer Fridays, began ten years ago, when an audit senior suggested we establish a program where employees would work extended hours Monday through Thursday and have Fridays off from Memorial Day to Labor Day. After careful consideration, management determined this would increase morale and productivity. The rest is history: The program was introduced in 2008 and continues to this day. Friedman’s Summer Friday program is unique in the accounting industry and provides employees with the flexibility they need, during the season when striking a work-life balance is most important.
Friedman recognizes that flexibility and alternative work schedules are important to the firm and its employees. We offer an “Everyday Workplace Flexibility” program for all employees in order to ensure that “work-life balance.” Employees may communicate the need for flexible hours, pending approval and workload management, as well as the need to work from home periodically. The firm expects employees to communicate with their team in advance, if possible, and complete their work in a timely fashion. We understand the importance of enabling our people to excel, both inside and outside the workplace. Over the years, we’ve noted that flex schedules have increased morale and allowed employees to perform to the best of their abilities.
Friedman has also established the Formal Alternative Work Arrangement (AWA) Program, a program that allows employees to customize a formal arrangement with the firm based on need. There are three types of alternative work arrangements, which employees may apply for individually or as a combination: reduced hours arrangement, working from home arrangement, and the non-core hours arrangement. We believe this program accommodates for various life circumstances and ensures firm efficiency.
Staff appreciation days and team building activities are also a part of our Friedman culture and help to engage our teammates and their families throughout the year. Additionally, we offer a Vacation Bank Program where employees can donate vacation time to other employees that may be struggling with a family emergency or other circumstance and need a hand.
Taken together, Friedman’s work-life success initiatives create an optimal working environment. Our flexible, friendly culture makes Friedman a great place to pursue your career.
