About the Company
Founded in 1945, Cantor Fitzgerald is one of the last private investment banks on Wall Street. Since its founding, the New York-headquartered firm has grown into a leading middle-market investment bank, providing equity and debt capital markets, corporate finance, M&A, merchant banking, prime brokerage, and commercial real estate financing services to customers throughout the world. The firm has trading desks in numerous major financial centers, and its 1,600 employees operate from some 30 offices across the globe. The firm is led by Howard Lutnick, its CEO and chairman who famously rebuilt Cantor Fitzerald after 658 of its employees were killed in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. At the time of the attacks, Cantor Fitzerald occupied floors 101 to 105 of the Trade Center.
