<p>Kickstarter is seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Data & Analytics Engineer II </strong>to join our Insights team. There is a tremendous opportunity to unlock new and valuable experiences for our community through the smart use of data. </p>
<p>As a Senior Data & Analytics Engineer II, you will play a foundational role in modernizing our data stack, building scalable and cost-efficient pipelines, enabling deeper insights across the organization, and architecting a data foundation that allows teams to leverage data towards our goals. You will work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to ensure Kickstarter’s data is high-quality, well-structured, and accessible for decision-making.</p>
<p>The salary range in this role in the United States is $175,000 - 191,300.</p>
<h4>In this role, you will:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Develop, own and improve Kickstarter’s data architecture—optimize our Redshift warehouse, implement best practices for data storage, processing, and orchestration.</li>
<li>Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to transform raw data into clean, usable datasets for analytics, product insights, and machine learning applications.</li>
<li>Enhance data accessibility and self-service analytics by improving Looker models and enabling better organizational data literacy.</li>
<li>Support real-time data needs by optimizing event-based telemetry and integrating new data streams to fuel new products, personalization, recommendations, and fraud detection.</li>
<li>Lead cost optimization efforts—identify and implement more efficient processes and tools to lower costs.</li>
<li>Drive data governance and security best practices—ensure data integrity, access controls, and proper lineage tracking.</li>
<li>Collaborate across teams to ensure data solutions align with product, growth, and business intelligence needs.</li>
</ul>
<h4>About You</h4>
<ul>
<li>8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related fields.</li>
<li>Strong experience with cloud-based data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery) and query performance optimization.</li>
<li>Expertise in SQL, Python, and data transformation frameworks like dbt.</li>
<li>Experience building scalable data pipelines with modern orchestration tools (Airflow, MWAA, Dagster, etc.).</li>
<li>Knowledge of real-time streaming architectures (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.) and event-based telemetry best practices.</li>
<li>Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Looker) and enabling self-serve analytics.</li>
<li>Ability to drive cost-efficient and scalable data solutions, balancing performance with resource management.</li>
<li>Familiarity with machine learning operations (MLOps) and experimentation tooling is a plus.</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving and communication skills—comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li>

Senior Data & Analytics Engineer II

<p>Kickstarter is seeking a motivated Operations & Creator Success Coordinator to join our Performance team. This role reports to the General Manager of the Performance team and will be focused on delivering high touch creator support and coordinating creative asset development for data-powered tools and services. This team is Kickstarter’s first new business line, and you’d be joining an experienced, creative team driven by delivering the best possible experience for creators bringing creative work to life.</p>
<p>Note that the typical schedule for this role is Monday - Thursday, but this role will be expected to check email and support creators as needed on Fridays on an ad hoc basis.</p>
<p>The salary range for this role in the United States is $60,000 – $68,500.</p>
<h4><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Manage the creative development process between creators and external design teams, overseeing asset briefing, intake, and approval workflows to ensure seamless execution.</li>
<li>Own end to end onboarding and offboarding experience for creators working with the Performance team by maintaining up-to-date playbooks and process documentation to drive consistency and clarity.</li>
<li>Enhance the creator experience by providing proactive support, addressing inquiries, escalating concerns, and ensuring creators feel valued and supported throughout their engagement.</li>
<li>Continuously optimize operational processes within the tasks and workload you own by identifying and implementing scalable improvements without compromising creator satisfaction.</li>
<li>Track and analyze creator sentiment, consolidating feedback to provide actionable insights that drive team improvements and enhance service offerings.</li>
<li>Support creator service adoption by assisting with pitches and helping creators understand the value of our services to encourage engagement.</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>About You</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>You have 1-2 years of professional experience managing and meeting the needs of clients with high expectations. Ideally, with experience pitching performance marketing services.</li>
<li>You enjoy working collaboratively, participating in team discussions, and have excellent communication and time management skills.</li>
<li>You have experience with creative development and brand-building, and a keen eye for detail. </li>
<li>You empathize with creators, the challenges of the creative process and bringing projects to life.</li>

<p>Kickstarter is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Accounting to join our Finance team. This role is pivotal to driving Kickstarter’s growth and success by leading accurate financial reporting, smart budget management, and strategic compliance, empowering impactful business decisions. We’re looking for an energetic leader who can navigate complex financial landscapes, inspire high-performing teammates, and translate numbers into meaningful insights that everyone can understand. This role reports to the VP, Finance.</p>
<p>The salary range in this role in the United States is $130,000 - 143,205.</p>
<h4>In this role, you will:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Lead accounting function for Kickstarter and all subsidiaries.</li>
<li>Be responsible for the monthly close cycle including preparation or validation of all journal entries, preparation of accurate financial statements, and analysis of balance sheet.</li>
<li>Direct all A/R, purchasing, and A/P activities, build strong vendor relationships, remit timely payments while being cognizant of approved budgets and operating cash flows, and actively pursue cost reduction strategies.</li>
<li>Oversee deployment of invoicing, subscription management, and revenue recognition internal tool.</li>
<li>Lead, coach, mentor, and build the team; take an active interest in their career and development and find ways to continue their growth and development.</li>
<li>Establish and implement internal controls to reasonably safeguard Company assets and capital.</li>
<li>Drive process improvements by leveraging technology and challenging current processes.</li>
<li>Advise on technical accounting guidance for Software Capitalization (ASC 350);  Revenue Recognition (ASC 606); Stock Compensation Expense (ASC 718); Capitalized Commissions (ASC 340-40), etc.</li>
<li>Engage and build relationships with cross departmental leadership to help drive efficiencies.</li>
<li>Liaise with our auditors for the annual financial statement audit as well as our external tax firm for the preparation, review, and accounting of tax accruals, provisions, and adjustments as well as ensure timely filing of corporate tax returns.</li>
<li>Be responsible for overseeing team charged with managing sales tax collection and remittance for US and international transactions.</li>
</ul>
<h4>About You</h4>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting with an active CPA license in good standing required.</li>
<li>7+ years of relevant accounting experience.</li>
<li>Experience leading accounting operations, monthly accounting close, and preparation of financial reports, experience with multiple subsidiaries and corporate consolidations strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Self starter with personal drive and excellent attention to detail.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting is critical.</li>
<li>Experienced with handling international subsidiaries and fx currency translation.</li>
<li>Strong time-management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams.</li>
<li>Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including non-finance managers.</li>
<li>Successful online marketplace industry experience with emphasis on rapid-growth, VC/PE-backed preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of systems implementations such as QBO -&gt; Netsuite preferred.</li>
<li>Experience with marketplace facilitator related sales tax obligations and platforms such as Avalara preferred.</li>
