In 1877, American breakfast was changed forever. Quaker Oats was the first company to register as a trademark for breakfast cereal in the United States. Original owners Henry Seymour and William Heston thought the name and symbol of “Quaker” displayed the brands “good quality and honest value.” Quaker has made incredibly delicious innovations in breakfast since its founding. In 1922, they introduced one of the first convenience products, Quaker Quick Oats. Much later, in 2001, PepsiCo acquired Quaker Oats for $13.8 billion. The acquisition was an important chapter to both companies’ history.
