About the Company
For over 80 years, Allstate has been the premier trendsetter in the insurance industry. Allstate had its beginnings in the fall of 1930 when Sears Roebuck & Co. President General Robert E. Wood started an auto insurance company, originally selling policies by mail. Allstate soon changed its sales model to include agent representation and opened its first office location in Chicago. Allstate operates under its mission statement of keeping people in “Good Hands,” offering an array of insurance products to help protect families and businesses alike.
