About the Company
Chicago-based Kemper offers automobile insurance, life insurance, and health insurance. The company was founded by Henry Singleton in 1990 and was originally called Unitrin. The company was a spin-off of Singleton’s conglomerate Teledyne. In 2002, Unitrin acquired the renewal rights for Kemper Insurance’s homeowners and automobile insurance products. By 2010, Unitrin had purchased the Kemper name and has since been selling insurance products as Kemper Insurance.
