Training
- Our Director of Associate Development has over 25 years of experience as a litigator and is now fully dedicated to working with associates on training and development through:
- Regularly scheduled check-ins
- Drop-in writing workshop for support on anything from outlining briefs to reviewing drafts to going over feedback in depth
- Monthly book club meetings to discuss chapters of a book on legal writing
- Working with partners to make sure each associate has opportunities for standup experiences like depositions and arguments
- We provide monthly training presentations on the nuts and bolts of litigation, as well as deeper dives into selected topics (such as big-picture strategies for case development and precise techniques for effective depositions)
- Each associate has monthly one-on-one mentoring sessions over lunch or coffee with their assigned partner mentor
Summer Associate Program
The BHB Summer Associate Program offers law students a hands-on introduction to complex litigation across a variety of practice areas. Participants engage in substantive legal work, including research assignments on diverse cases, moot court arguments, and attendance at hearings, trials, and appellate proceedings. Our program is thoughtfully designed to provide meaningful litigation experience, foster strong mentoring relationships, and cultivate lasting connections among peers. In addition to legal training, students enjoy a range of social and wellness activities, creating opportunities to build relationships in a relaxed and supportive environment.
