&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;“The social aspects of my firm&#39;s summer associate program would be difficult for any other firm to top. Our recruiting department does an outstanding job of planning events and helping us build our relationships, both with attorneys and amongst the summer associate classes.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“The social events were original, well-planned, and fun. The summer associates spent a lot of time together in and out of the office. By the end of the summer, we got to meet every associate and almost every partner in the office.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“The firm did a great job curating thoughtful and enjoyable social events that were well-attended by both attorneys and the summer associates.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“There were multiple social events each week—typically one large event and one or two smaller events. Most, if not all, summer associates attended all of the events along with at least one partner/associate from each practice group.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;“I have found that my summer associate experience very well prepared me for my role as an associate at Locke Lord. Of course, there is more work and fewer social activities as an associate than as a summer associate, but that is to be expected. The firm does a good job of giving its summer associates a real picture of what life will be like once you start as a full-time associate.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“The biggest difference between my expectations and reality working as a first year is the assignment process. I did not anticipate having to shoulder the responsibility of making sure I had enough work to do. Otherwise, I feel like I knew I would have to work more than I worked during my summer, but it has not exceeded my expectation.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“The only thing that has changed is an increase in workload with more realistic (shorter) deadlines. Otherwise, the summer associate experience hid nothing.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;“My favorite summer event was our annual trip to Gruene, Texas, where we got to float a river and spend a weekend together.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“Progressive dinner (each course of the meal was at a different level associate&#39;s house that we were bussed to) and partner dinner (dinner at a partner&#39;s house with a small group of summer associates and spouses).”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“The wine tasting with partners showcasing their favorite wines and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (the Red Sox event would have been up there, but I could not attend due to family loss).”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;“Go-kart racing, pre-fixe dinner at Barley Swine, bowling, magic show.”&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;
