Parsons Behle & Latimer was founded in the 1870s by mining lawyer William Howard Dickson in Carson City, Nevada. The firm—then known as Dickson & Varian—moved to Salt Lake City in 1882. Dickson and his law partner Charles Varian both also served as U.S. Attorneys for Utah Territory. Since its founding, the firm has grown its Mountain States presence, with more than 190 attorneys and nine offices across Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Utah.
