A Little History
Founded in 1892, Sherman & Howard is the oldest firm in Denver. Its roots trace back to a single practitioner, James H. Pershing, who opened his practice in Denver's Equitable Building—now an historic landmark. Named partners Samuel Sherman and Winston Howard joined the firm as associates just a few months apart in 1936 and were added to the masthead 20 years later. Today, the firm operates out of 10 offices throughout the West and in St. Louis.
