About the Company
Hulu is an streaming service that was founded in 2007. It was a joint venture between News Corporation and NBC Universal, and eventually Providence Equity Partners and The Walt Disney Company joined in on the company. The official public launch of the site came a year later in 2008. Hulu broadcasts live TV, offers premium cable channel add-ons, streams thousands of TV shows and movies, and creates original content like Emmy winning televisions series The Handmaid’s Tale and The Act.
In 2019, the Walt Disney Company took on full operational control of Hulu. This acquisition has allowed Hulu to grow immensely.
