Overview
About the Company
Clarios is a manufacturing company that produces batteries for vehicles. In fact, the company claims to have its batteries in one-third of every vehicle in the world. Formerly a division of Johnson Controls, Clarios became an independent company in 2019. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it has manufacturing facilities and distribution centers worldwide.
Clarios has been around for over a century, specializing in producing -acid and lithium-ion batteries for a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, industrial equipment, and leisure vehicles. Lead-acid batteries still dominate the marketplace for automotive starting, lighting, and ignition (e.g., the battery in a traditional gas-powered car). Meanwhile, lithium-ion batteries are used to power electric vehicles.
