Intern Reviews

  • “The quality of life at Nissan was amazing. I met so many other interns and had the opportunity to travel across the state of Tennessee and throughout the South to visit automotive suppliers. … I worked a standard 40-hour workweek, but I was able to work remotely from Wednesday to Friday. Nissan employees are encouraged to maintain a good work/life balance and it really is possible if you put in the effort.”

  • “… Everyone I have met here has been extremely nice, especially compared to places I have worked in the past. People understand that you are unexperienced, yet also respect you as an equal. The attitude toward work/life balance was certainly better than at other places I have experienced.”
  • … One thing I have found in my time here is that Nissan really takes care of their employees. Everyone in my group has been at the plant for more than 20 years, and you can ask any one of them, and they will say they love their jobs. The supervisors are very involved with their employees and will give them whatever they need to make them successful. Furthermore, as an intern, I was able to explore whatever it was that most interested me. I was able to get a lot of exposure and training in many different departments. One day I would be talking to a data analysis guy and learning tips and tricks for coding and Excel. Then, the very next day, I could be in a robot workshop and learning how to control and program routes on the robots. Overall, this internship has exceeded my expectations, and it doesn't even feel like I am working half the time because the environment is so great, and everyone is happy to be there.”
  • The quality of life I have is very satisfying. We are allowed to work Mondays and Fridays virtually and are only required to come into the office Tuesday through Thursday. … My team is all very interested in me and my endeavors, and support and help me with anything I need. The work is very useful and applicable to engineering, and I feel as if I were a full-time employee with meaningful projects. My manager also recognizes I sacrifice a summer break to work and encourages me to go out and explore what the surrounding areas have to offer and not overwork myself.”

Getting Hired Here

  • “My interactions with interviewers were extremely positive. I had one interview and received a job offer the next day. I can't speak to the selectiveness of the standards, but I was very pleased with how the interview went. I believe it was a fair process and was relatively stress-free. The interview was very casual. I was asked a few technical questions but for the most part was asked to talk about myself and my background.”

  • “The interview process was fairly straightforward with a short application, a phone call informing me I had been chosen to interview, followed by a panel interview, and finally another phone call to inform me I had been extended an offer. After that, there were standard hiring processes such as background checks and school records. The only complaint that I would have with the process would be the timeline. I applied eight months before my start date and it took four to five months before I ever heard anything back.”
  • “The interviews were very relaxed and it felt like the hiring managers were trying to get to know my background and my work history. The only thing I disliked was the several interviews and several months of waiting to see if I was going to get another round of interviews. Once I was told the number of applicants Nissan had, I was very proud of myself to have been chosen as an intern for a great team.”
  • “Interviews were conducted professionally and were good. They weren't too difficult, nor were they a breeze. And the interviewers were great. I just hit a couple of snags during the HR phase with response time. Other than that, it was fine.”
