Intern Reviews

  • “I thoroughly enjoyed my internship! I typically worked around nine hours a day and frequently collaborated in person with my team. The team’s passion for their work was contagious and greatly influenced my own enthusiasm. The firm’s culture is highly collaborative and free from the negative competitiveness found in some other organizations.”
  • “I think the firm culture at OW sets it apart. Right away, I felt welcomed and supported by my team, managers, and peers. I was able to jump right into a project team but always felt supported and free to ask questions. The hours of the job varied day to day, as is usually the case in consulting. Some days I worked later into the evening hours (latest around 11 p.m.) and other days we left as early as 5:30 p.m. My team was always considerate and respectful of balancing longer days in the office with shorter days when the workload was lighter. The team and intern events were definitely a highlight.”
  • “The firm culture is great. Super nice and helpful people, lots of happy hours/socials organized for the office, working hours are quite high but that is project dependent.”
  • “The people at the firm are amazing and highly intelligent. As an intern, I found I was typically working 65 to 70 hours a week. While the team cares about work/life balance, I found that it was very difficult to actually maintain balance during weekdays due to the 13- to 15-hour workdays.”

Getting Hired Here

  • “I interviewed through the leadership conference and was very satisfied with the interview experience. My interviewers were very engaged, and I felt that I was able to connect with them, which helped me have a good interview and be able to learn more about their experiences.”
  • “I underwent two 20-minute case interviews that were fairly challenging. After completing the cases, the remaining time was spent conversing with the interviewer in a behavioral format. Oliver Wyman is very selective when fielding applicants, so I know many students who were not offered one of the 50 extended internship slots.”
  • “I had to go through two interviews—one behavioral and one case interview, which I felt was engaging and non-biased. It was not immensely difficult but was intellectually challenging.”
  • “It's extremely difficult to land this job, and the hardest part by far was securing the interview itself. I thought the interview was fair and not terribly difficult.”
