Intern Reviews
- “Cape Cod Five has a very positive work culture. Everybody is very friendly and seems to enjoy working here very much. I would normally work roughly 40 hours a week.”

- “The work/life balance and quality of life here is heavily prioritized. The environment is very open and flexible, and you are left to make your own decisions and given a lot of independence. You can work remotely up to three days a week, but I choose to come to the office every day because I like it. There are a variety of standing and sitting desks, meeting rooms, private rooms you can book, outdoor seating, and cubicles, with no assigned seating, so you can sit wherever you'd like within your department. You are free to move around as you wish and there are lots of coffee-break style rooms and local cold brew and kombucha on tap. The cafe here is excellent with chefs who make truly delicious, fresh, and healthy food every day as well as grab-and-go snacks and meals. All of the staff, from the janitors to the CEO, are friendly with each other, and eat lunch together. There is no sense of stuffiness from the senior leadership team—any employee can speak to them if they would like to and has their contact information. There is also a free gym here for employees, with access to a personal trainer. There are frequent activities at work, including bank-wide birthday celebrations each month, and lots of Employee Appreciation activities, parties, giveaways, and gifts. There is a huge culture of knowledge sharing, especially in terms of the local community which the bank is heavily invested in. We are always being informed of events happening such as cultural festivals, art shows, or baseball games that we are asked to support or represent the bank at. We are required to work 40 hours a week but I have never had an issue with taking time off for appointments or other necessary things. We can also get to work when we choose (within reason) and leave when we choose as long as we get our work done and meet our hours. The internship program and interns are very valued here and treated with a lot of respect. I can tell that they don't just see us as a form of cheap labor but are actually really trying to help us learn a lot.”
- “Anytime anyone needed some time off for whatever reason, Cape Cod 5 found a way to make it work without any judgement. The company truly wanted the best for all of its employees.”
- “Required 40 hours a week, but there was an option to go remote a few days per week. All of the interns were very social, and all the full-time employees were happy to talk to you and wanted you to learn about every department. The firm culture was amazing because learning was a priority, and if you took personal initiative to learn something new or wanted to be exposed to something else, everyone was very willing and flexible. The office is very modern.”
Getting Hired Here
- “My initial interview was a very positive experience. I had prepared beforehand, both with the internship I was applying for as well as Cape Cod Five's core values, which I think was very helpful. I did have to wait a little while and reach out before I was told I was accepted.”

- “I applied for the job online and received an email asking to set up an interview with the hiring manager. I was able to have an informational interview with him, which felt very comfortable. He did ask me a lot of traditional questions about my experience and background, but he felt very genuine and non-judgmental and gave me a lot of information about the program and what it’s like. He stressed that I was interviewing him as much as he was interviewing me and wanted me to enjoy the program. He reached out again to schedule a second interview with my now boss and made himself very available to me through email and phone. The second interview with my now boss felt more like a casual conversation than an interview, although it did require me to talk a lot about my experiences and why I wanted the job and why I felt like it was a fit for me.”
- “I had a few rounds of interviews, and during each one I maintained a relationship with the same HR representative. Each round of interviews after the first one was with a person in my department, so I really got a feel for who I would be working for. The internship was pretty selective, and although I didn't work here last year, there is a lot of opportunity for growth for repeat interns.”
- “The hiring process isn't harsh, and the interviews seem fair. More of a conversation than getting grilled with questions. The bank seems very selective based the number of applications and how many people get an interview or offer.”
