About the Company
Nationwide has a history of industry firsts. For the first few decades of its existence, starting in 1926, Nationwide was known as Farm Bureau Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. In the late 1920s, it began its expansion across the U.S., and after a series of acquisitions, it became known as Nationwide in 1955. Intern Reviews
- “My team was incredibly understanding and flexible when it comes to hours. Everyone is incredibly kind and encouraging of one another.”
- “The internship coordinators made it very clear that interns were only supposed to work 40 hours per week. This protected our work-life balance, as it is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the workday and work longer than you really should. The company culture is awesome. Everyone is very amicable and upbeat, and it makes showing up to work every day a pleasure. I hope that I will get the opportunity to work full-time here in the future. I think that the work-life balance definitely depends team-to-team, but I think overall this company has [a] good work-life balance.”
- “The company culture makes Nationwide what it is. I feel very valued as an intern and know I'm taken seriously, even early in my career. The hours were standard full-time (40 hours a week), except for holidays. The ability to adjust your work schedule based on personal needs was very nice, and your health was always the priority over work.”
- “Company culture is great; the employees love their jobs and treat each other quite well. The hours worked were great - Nationwide was quite flexible with my schedule. I was paid through a third party, so I couldn’t work more than 40 hours a week. At least for the interns, there was considerable care for our work/life balance.”
Getting Hired Here
- “I think the hiring process was perfectly fine. I think the number of interviews was perfect along with the questions asked. I think the requirements the company asked of me for the role were perfectly along the lines of what they needed. I can tell that there were some selective standards, but after working here, I can understand why that is needed.”
- “The interview process was not complicated, but it was incredibly selective.”
- “Everyone I interacted with during the hiring process was amazing.”
- “The process started with contact at a career fair, and I was reached out to directly by a recruiter suggesting a position to apply for. From there, one interview took place before the offer was handed out to me. The interview felt more like a conversation compared to others I was a part of. The people were very friendly.”
