<p>As we create next-generation technology and processes, we need you to guide the way. As an intern, you will work in a hands-on setting alongside industry experts in functions like engineering, cybersecurity, manufacturing, business development and everything in between to help us solve some of the world's greatest challenges. It's all part of our <strong>L</strong>earn, <strong>E</strong>ngage, <strong>A</strong>pply, and <strong>P</strong>rogress (LEAP) program designed to give you real-world experience. A LEAP internship with BAE Systems will provide you with development opportunities to help prepare you for a career after graduation. <h2><strong>About our Program</strong></h2>
<p>Bring your classroom knowledge to the real world as you work on next generation-technology and processes from day one. Our portfolio is wide-ranging, meaning every person’s LEAP experience is slightly different.</p>
<p>LEAP participants support many functions, including, but not limited to engineering, procurement, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, business development, finance, communications, marketing, and human resources.</p>
<p>Previous projects have been:</p>
<ul>
<li>Assisting in the design of combat vehicles or marine vessel components.</li>
<li>Applying programing knowledge in support of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, aerospace, or electric systems initiatives.</li>
<li>Helping to streamline operational processes to meet mission-critical deadlines.</li>
<li>Working in business functions in order to secure a future commercial or government contract; or carry out an existing one.</li>
</ul>
<p>LEAP internships and co-ops are available year-round. Most interns typically join us in during the summer months of May through August. ​​​​Based on the influx of interns, this is when we plan our core LEAP programming including networking and mentoring sessions, soft-skill development workshops, early-career advice panels, fireside chats with company leadership, and our National Intern Day celebration.</p>
<p>We pride ourselves in providing a flexible internship experience. We have full-time on-site, remote, and hybrid opportunities. Where someone works from depends on their job responsibilities. Some LEAP Program participants will have the option to work on a 9/80 schedule, which allows for every other Friday off. ​​​The physical location and assigned schedule will be listed on the job description. </p>
