About the Program

The Boehringer Ingelheim internship program goes for 12 weeks over the summer. Internships are available in many of the company’s business areas, including finance, analytics and insights, research, and sales, among others. The internship allows students to get hands-on experience with the kinds of work that the company does, and in the process, they can gain workplace skills to add to their resumes and a network of students and full-time professionals.

  • “Overall, Boehringer was an amazing place to do an internship. … Boehringer is truly a unique company, offering interns many of the same benefits that full-time employees receive. Management was, though busy, always extremely helpful and encouraging of intrapreneurship. Also, very friendly of work/life balance, as I was initially required to come in 40 hours a week, I was a student, and management allowed me to drop down to part-time hours.”
  • “Definitely a great work-life balance—I am able to work from home 2-3 days a week. Great company culture: everyone is very kind and helpful. I worked 40 hours a week—about 3 days in the office and 2 from home.”

Getting Hired Here

  • “Felt calm throughout the hiring process and was quick to receive information if I had any follow-up questions.”
  • “I was actually reached out to first about this position, but once I was in contact with someone from Boehringer Ingelheim, it was smooth sailing from there. Everything was efficient and straightforward throughout the hiring process. I am not sure how selective their standards are for applicants.”

  • “My interview process was great, considering I actually heard back from someone, unlike a lot of other companies. I first interviewed with a woman in HR for about 15 minutes, and she set me up with the interview team at the location where I applied to work. Within two weeks, I interviewed with a panel of three people for 45 minutes; it was slightly intimidating at first, but they did a good job at making me feel comfortable. Within 15 minutes after the interview ended, the same HR woman who I first talked to called me and told me I had been offered the position. The interviews weren't overly difficult, and they genuinely seemed interested in getting to know me. Not only did they want someone with a good background, but it was also important that the intern could 'fit in' to the department.”
