About the Company
A commonly seen name in hardware stores and DIYer’s garages worldwide, STIHL manufactures handheld power tools, including leaf blowers, trimmers, mowers, and most famously – chainsaws. STIHL invented the first chainsaw that could be operated by one person in 1930. These days, STIHL is the number one seller of chainsaws worldwide and manufactures a variety of tools to keep a yard in tip-top shape, whether you’re a homeowner or a professional.
Intern Reviews
- “STIHL is an accepting environment for all and had the typical 40-hour work week with opportunities for overtime if necessary. There was always a push to keep work and personal separated and to make sure to take time to relax and unwind when not at work.”

- “Very good office culture, great environment to develop professional skills, very reasonable expectations for interns, assigned work pushed me to improve my skills but gave adequate time to complete tasks. Work-life balance is incredibly important here; I work 40 hours a week (as expected) and never have to work outside of regular hours.”
- “I love pretty much everything; everyone is so nice and willing to help all the time! The work-life balance is honestly amazing, morale is always high, and people know when they need to lock in vs. when it's social time. It's been a truly incredulous internship.”
- “Company culture and environment were enjoyable. Most people were nice and willing to help. Work hours and work/life balance were exactly as expected; if anything came up, supervisor was very flexible.”

- “STIHL was very responsive throughout the whole process and always communicated in a timely manner. They were quick to set up an interview and return with a response; within a month of application, I had received an offer—no sitting around for months waiting to hear if you were accepted or not. Interviewers were very professional and personable, and the questions and skill requirements were reasonable and relevant to the department the applicant would work in. Interview process was not overly complicated or difficult, and their standards seemed extremely reasonable.”
- “The hiring process was easy, and I was kept up to date the entire time.”
