About the Program

Trane Technologies offers a variety of internship options for students with a knack for STEM subjects, as well as those with less technical career goals. Internships are available in areas like engineering, operations, marketing, analytics and data science, technical sales, and more. Regardless of internship function, interns will learn the ins and outs of the HVAC business as they grow their professional skills and networks, both with other interns and with full-time Trane employees.

About the Company

Trane Technologies is a manufacturer of HVAC and refrigeration systems, the latter mainly for refrigerated transportation. Formerly a part of Ingersoll Rand, the company now operates independently. Its brands include Trane, Thermo King, and ICS Cool Energy. The company is headquartered in Swords, Ireland, with an American HQ in Davidson, North Carolina. It’s led by CEO Dave Regnery.

Intern Reviews

  • “The culture of the company was very warm and welcoming. Everyone is extremely helpful in teaching me things about the industry and giving me and my fellow intern projects to work on. Never did I feel like I had to work more hours than I was required by the internship program, and some days we were allowed to take off with no issue.”
  • “The entire team was very welcoming to both of the interns. My manager had put my desk in an area where I could be completely surrounded by local experts and leaders with unlimited access to seek out learning opportunities. I was expected to work exactly 40 hours and was able to spend time outside of work with coworkers. The overall attitude in the workplace is that everyone enjoys what they do and looks forward to meeting with their customers.”
  • “Extremely open and supportive co-workers and networking opportunities with both interns and leadership within the company.”
  • “Overall, the internship is great, they want to know about us and about what we want out of our internship.”

Getting Hired Here

  • “Recruiter reached out and talked on the phone, then you complete a video interview, and then lastly, do an interview on Zoom. It took about two weeks to hear back.”
  • “My interactions with not only the talent recruiters but also the person who interviewed me was very casual, which made the process much more comfortable and easier.”
  • “I had a good experience with the interviews. Knowing the type of questions that were going to be asked helped calm my nerves. As well as how to answer behavioral questions.”
  • “The application process was very straightforward, and there was only one interview. The interviewers, who are now my managers, were very friendly and easy to converse with. They got back to me within just a few days with a job offer.”
