About the Company

Ongoing through several name changes and even different corporate ownerships, NBC and Universal have had a partnership since 1950, when Universal began supplying a number of shows to the broadcaster. One of many companies owned by Comcast (purchase completed in 2013), NBCUniversal then has multiple departments, divisions, and networks of its own to run, including Universal Studios, Telemundo, Peacock, and the Universal Parks & Resorts properties.

Intern Reviews

  • “NBCUniversal felt like a welcoming community from day one. Employees were always friendly, greeting me with smiles and hellos. The company culture was vibrant and fun, with live music and activities during lunch breaks. I maintained a 40-hour workweek, split between three days on-site and two days remote. This flexible schedule allowed me to be more productive outside of work hours, as I saved time on commuting. I cherished the relationships I built at NBCUniversal. The company's culture emphasized inclusivity and care, making me feel valued as an employee. I appreciated the access to wellness and professional development resources, which motivated me to contribute to the company's success.”
  • “It was super fun! I had two full days in the office and two where I worked remotely. Altogether it totaled about 20 to 25 hours a week. The company culture was very fun and supportive. I had a great time and felt as though the team cared for me as a person beyond my work.”
  • “I found the work environment and culture to be exceptionally welcoming and positive. The team members were always eager to help and guide me. I established great connections with the people I worked with and to this day I continue to maintain regular contact with them.”
  • “I loved the work environment and all the people who worked there. Everyone was kind and willing to help each other. While I was at the internship, I was a full-time student and commuting over an hour to work. I felt my internship was very flexible. I worked on average 24 hours a week and sometimes up to 40 hours.”

Getting Hired Here

  • “I thought the interview process was fair. They notified me with enough time to prepare to move to a different state. My interviewers were friendly, and the difficulty was the right amount of challenging.”
  • “The first interview was a non-live video interview, in which I watched pre-recorded questions and then recorded 30 to 60 second responses. I had done these before so I knew what to expect, but I'm not a fan of this style as it doesn't feel like you can really express your personality. Luckily, in this case, I made it passed this round of interviews and to interviewing with individual show teams. This part was considerably more enjoyable because I could do research on specific shows, and I felt as though more of the power was in my hands, as I ultimately got to pick the team I wanted to join (there were two that liked me).”
  • “I had about three rounds of interviews (the first was an online submission without facing a live recruiter). The interviews were very personable and not difficult, and their standards are very high for selection.”
  • “The hiring process for NBCU has been known to be notoriously difficult. My process was relatively calm, as I remember only having two rounds of interviews—a HireVue interview and an online Zoom with two of the producers. The questions were just general behavioral questions with some asking about how my experience correlates to the job responsibilities. I would say that they are very selective.”
